For Parents

Climate change is a huge and overwhelming topic, media coverage is generally negative and kids are bombarded with continual information on catastrophic climate change. It's hard to process and leaves many children feeling powerless and without hope.

We can help our kids to feel confident about their future and build hope by talking about how we've solved problems in the past, pointing out that solutions already exist and talk about how many people are working on the problems together.

One of the best ways to combat anxiety is through action. We can build kids' resilience and combat anxiety by encouraging and supporting their involvement in activities that mitigate climate change and help them adapt to it.

Most importantly we can take them outside and share our love of nature with them, so they come to love and delight in the plants and animals in their neighbourhood.
